The University of Bucharest by Numbers (1914–1918)

We shall present five statistical classifications regarding the number of departments within the University of Bucharest, the number of graduates and PhD students, the number of registered students, the number of meetings in the University Senate and the nationality of students. Each statistical classification reveals an interesting aspect concerning the situation of the University of Bucharest during the First World War. For instance, we notice the reduction by a quarter of the number of students in the University Senate during the 1916/1917 and 1917/1918 academic years, the most difficult years both for the country and for the University in Bucharest.
